TBP signs to Red Cat Inst Fringe!
Red Cat Inst Fringe is very proud to announce the brand new partnership with Mario Contarino and his project TBP and the incoming release of his new full length “Musical Colors” on September 2014.
Mario Contarino was born in Rome on October 26, 1984, and wasdiagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at 5 years old. Since young age he had a strong passion for music, drumming in particular, that made him left high school.
At the age of 16 he starts playing drums in a band called “Ladri Di Carrozzelle“, which features other guys with the same disease as his: the drumming role was shared between four people using different electronic pads kits to play all the drum parts. Mario took this chance to learn how to read notes and to write instrumental parts. Until he left the band in 2006 he played around600 gigs through all Italy (one of the most important has been the May 1st Concert that takes place every year in Rome in front of hundred thousands crowd and was televised live to thousands of people) and featured many tv broadcasts.
Due to dystrophy’s effects getting stronger he is no more capable of playing physically but with the aid of technology and computers starts composing and arranging music thanks specially to Steinberg Cubase, featuring many plug ins. Empowered by software, then, he starts a new venture in 2007 and by 2011 he had about 30 songs he covered for fun in his own personal crazy style.
Basically he wants the TBP project to project emotions and feelings through musical output by composing original songs, wether instrumental ones or not and cruising through many musical streams starting from blues, hard rock running until most complicate genres as progressive metal and fusion. November 13th 2012 marks the birth of “Universe Of Emotions“ (Zeta Factory rec.), TBP project’s first album, produced by renowned guitar player Giacomo Castellano. The album is acclaimed by famous musicians such as Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Mike Terrana, John Macaluso, Mattias Eklundh, Lorenzo Feliciati and many others.
As of 2014 Mario’s TBP is working again with Giacomo Castellano to put out another piece of work where Great People will play his parts… Be prepared!

Red Cat Inst Fringe è felice di annunciare l’entrata di Mario Contarino con il suo progetto TBP nel proprio roster per la pubblicazione del loro nuovo full length “Musical Colors”, prevista per Settembre 2014.
Mario Contarino, è nato a Roma il 26 Ottobre 1984, ed all’età di cinque anni gli è stata diagnosticata la Distrofia Muscolare di Duchenne. Fin da piccolo ha sempre avuto la passione per la musica, in particolare per la batteria, infatti; vista la passione, abbandona la scuola al secondo anno di Liceo Scientifico.
L’anno successivo, all’età di sedici anni, entra a far parte come batterista nella band pop rock “Ladri di Carrozzelle“, gruppo composto maggiormente da ragazzi con la sua stessa patologia. La batteria era suonata e suddivisa per quattro persone, con l’uso di pad elettronici; con questa esperienza ha anche l’occasione di imparare la lettura ritmica e la scrittura dello strumento. Ha fatto parte del gruppo fino all’estate del 2006 ed in questi sei anni suona in circa seicento concerti in tutta Italia, partecipando a molte manifestazioni e trasmissioni televisive importanti. Una di queste è stata la partecipazione alConcerto del 1° Maggio 2006 in piazza S. Giovanni a Roma, di fronte a migliaia di persone, ed in diretta televisiva.
Visto l’avanzare della Distrofia. non ha più la forza per suonare ma, grazie al computer, ed alla tecnologia, a fine 2007 inizia a comporre musica, utilizzando il software della Steinberg “Cubase” insieme a vari plugin VST. A seguito di questo, fonda un progetto personale dal nome TBP, con il quale, per gioco, dall’ estate 2011 realizza una trentina di cover di brani famosi, “stravolti” in versione strumentale hard rock.
Principalmente, però, il progetto TBP consiste nel trasmettere emozioni e stati d’animo attraverso la musica, con brani originali, strumentali e non, che raggruppano molte influenze e varietà di generi rock (hard, funky, progressive, fusion, blues, metal e molti altri). Il 13 Novembre 2012 esce, con l’etichetta Zeta Factory, “Universe Of Emotions“, album di esordio del progetto TBP, prodotto dal noto chitarrista Giacomo Castellano (Raf, Nannini, Noemi ecc.). L’album ottiene molte recensioni positive. Nel frattempo riceve i complimenti da molti musicisti fra i quali: Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Mike Terrana, John Macaluso, Mattias Eklundh, Lorenzo Feliciati e moltissimi altri.
Al momento (2014), insieme a Giacomo Castellano, sta producendo il secondo album del progetto, nel quale suoneranno musicisti di spessore del panorama Italiano ed internazionale.
